Doberman Pinscher Health
The Doberman Pinscher is not unique in carrying genetic disease. Defective genes that may lead to hereditary diseases
( dog health ) are carried in every purebred or mixed breed dog and, in fact, in every mammal, including humans. While there are no guarantees that the puppy or dog you choose will live a long and healthy life, you may be able to minimize the risk of early death or debilitating disease by acquiring your dog from a dog breeder who carefully studies the family health of breeding candidates and who uses genetic disease testing, where available, for potential candidates. Additionally, be aware of the problems that most commonly afflict your breed, learn how to reduce risk factors, take preventive measures and know how to recognize early clinical signs of common diseases.
